Woodpeckings: Victorian prints, book illustration and word-image narratives

I had the pleasure of attending part of this 2-day conference at the British Museum, which was organised by Bethan Stevens and George Mind, and which publicises their work on the Brothers Dalziel Archive. http://www.sussex.ac.uk/english/dalziel/woodpeckings-conference-programme/

Some of the interesting things that conference attendees got to see were albums and woodblocks. The album shown below is particularly interesting to me since the image of the life vest is used in Chambers's Encyclopaedia, 2nd edition.
