I’m spending the next couple of days in Edinburgh. Today I was at the NMS looking at the W&R Chambers blocks with Alison and Tom Mole, of the University of Edinburgh.
I took some photos of the blocks which I may use for my doctoral seminar presentation in a couple of weeks. Notice the difference between how the 1st edition wood engraving looks much different from the second edition wood engraving.
We also had a look at at a few of the old printing presses and their equipment in the University store.
Tomorrow I’ll be at the National Library of Scotland looking over the W&R Archives.
